Yamaha Motor Company will supply chassis damping components for Lexus IS models (excluding HV and all-wheel drive versions).
IS is the fifth Lexus model to use Yamaha Performance Damper. Previously, Yamaha's models included Lexus CT200h, RX450h/350, HS250h and NX300h.
Yamaha's Performance Damper completed the basic concept development in 2000 and was put into mass production for the first time in April 2004.
Performance Damper is a component installed on the front and rear sides of the vehicle body to suppress vehicle vibration. It can convert the small deformation of the vehicle body under 1mm during driving into heat energy to absorb, and improve driving stability and ride comfort.
